Are you looking for a way to reduce monthly repayments on debt each month? Find out how credit card debt management services can help.

Credit card debt management services are one of the best ways to pay off debt at an affordable rate. It involves defaulting on the original T&C's of the agreement in order to make a repayment based upon how much the borrower can afford to offer creditors each month.

When household expenditure exceeds income, urgent action needs to be taken to address this imbalance in order to avoid any unwelcome creditor contact from collection agencies. A Debt Management Program helps to restore parity to family finances by renegotiating unpaid credit card debt, medical bills and loan agreements. This is a vastly better way to pay off debt than borrowing additional money.

Benefits of Credit Card Debt Management Services

  • Reduce monthly repayments to creditors. Payment is based on affordability and not the T&C's of the credit agreement. This can negatively affect the borrower's credit score, although the majority of those utilising credit card debt management services have already missed payments.
  • No further charges. The majority of creditors agree to put a freeze on interest and further charges. However, the agreement is completely voluntary so there is no obligation on them to do this.
  • Stop creditor contact. The majority of creditors will no longer contact the borrower once a Debt Management Program has been entered into. If calls and letters are received, the intermediary will make contact with the creditor in order to amicably resolve the matter.

Income and Expenditure Analysis

An intermediary will conduct a full analysis of the client's income and expenditure to identify areas where savings can be realised. After taking into account all priority bills (mortgage, rent and utility bills) and essential household expenses, it will be determined how much can be contributed to a Debt Management Program each month without causing further financial hardship.

Reduce Monthly Repayments to Creditors

Once all of the paperwork has been signed, the client will now make a single payment each month to the Debt Management Program provider (intermediary). After the deduction of a 15% management fee, the remaining sum will be distributed to creditors based upon the amount each one is owed. This will continue until the outstanding sum of money is cleared in-full.

Unlike a debt settlement plan, there is no reduction to the principal, only an improvement in affordability and a potential freeze on further charges. However, credit card debt management services provides a struggling borrower with an excellent way to pay off debt gradually and affordably. Always consult a non profit debt counselor to ensure that the optimal debt solution is chosen.
