The scale of financial problems the public faces has grown beyond precedent this past decade. Now is the time to tackle this and make debt problems a thing of the past.

Many people are currently experiencing financial problems. They can be extremely stressful and damaging to relationships, but do not despair as there is almost always a solution. Rome wasn't built overnight, but making some simple lifestyle changes will soon help anyone get out of debt.

Produce a Budget

Put together a full breakdown of all sources of income and expenditure. Try to be as specific as possible and pinpoint areas where savings can be made. Whilst mortgages, rent and council tax are a necessity, it isn't compulsory to drink and smoke. Stopping these excesses will save money, help pay off debts and prevent creditor harassment.

Pay off Debts by Living with the Parents

Living with the parents may be a pain, but it is a great way to reduce debts and save money. Paying a mortgage or renting somewhere is not cheap. The money that is saved can be used to pay off credit card debt or even assist with higher contributions towards a Debt Management Plan.

Save on Transport Costs by Cycling to Work

Living within a few miles of work has numerous advantages. It not only takes less time to get there, but it also means that a person can cycle to work and save on transport costs. Personal transportation also means that there are fewer issues with lateness - no wages docked for late arrival.

Save Loads of Cash by Making Your Own Work Lunch

Buying a baguette, a few snacks and a drink from a bakery can cost as much as £100 each month. Making lunch at home is vastly more frugal. The beauty of this is that it will only takes a few additional minutes each day to secure this incredible saving.

Reduce Debts by Selling Things on eBay

Most people buy things that aren't needed so why not sell them on eBay to reduce debts? It will remove clutter as well as generating a useful income stream. Paypal does charge for the intermediary service it offers, but other payment methods can be utilised.

Buying second-hand clothes on eBay, rather than going to designer outlet stores, will also help save money. Try to remember that there are a lot of fake designer clothes selling on eBay so do some research before parting with any cash.

Pay Off Credit Card Debt by Making More than the Minimum Payment Each Month

Paying only the minimum amount on credit card debt each month could mean that it will last for up to 40 years. Try to pay off more than the minimum each month and stop generating fresh credit card debt. Seek to take advantage of 0% credit card balance transfers to minimise the amount of interest paid.

Stop Creditor Harassment with a Debt Management Plan

If it has become impossible to meet all of the monthly loan and credit card obligations a Debt Management Plan provides an affordable means of addressing these financial problems. If approved a single contribution would be made that would be divided on a pro rata basis between creditors. It stops creditor harassment.

Try to assess all incomes and expenditures now as it is always easier to resolve debt problems in their infancy. Credit card debt and other financial difficulties aren't terminal, provided action is taken sooner rather than later.
